I Am Valuable
Matthew 6:26 — “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”
Being valuable means your worth to God exceeds anything the world could assign to you.
God Says You Are Valuable
Your value is not determined by what you produce, what you look like, what you own, or what people think of you. Your value is established by God, and it was established before you did anything to earn it. He said you’re worth more than the birds He feeds, more than the flowers He clothes. If He tends to them, how much more does He tend to you?
How to Practice Being Valuable
- Stop letting the world set your price. Culture values people based on appearance, achievement, and status. Those are not God’s metrics. Refuse to let your worth be determined by any standard other than His.
- Invest in yourself. When you know you’re valuable, you take care of what you’ve been given. Invest in your health, your mind, your relationships, and your gifts. You’re worth the investment.
- Treat others as valuable too. When you genuinely believe in your own worth, you stop needing to diminish others to feel significant. Practice seeing and affirming the value in every person you encounter.
Prayer
Father, help me to see myself the way You see me, as immeasurably valuable. Heal the places where I’ve accepted a lesser view of myself. Let Your assessment of my worth be the one I live by. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
