Don’t Trade Your Future for a Feeling
Bible Hack: Don’t make a permanent decision just to satisfy a temporary urge.
Scripture: Genesis 25:34: “Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”
Explanation: Esau came in exhausted and hungry, so he traded his birthright to Jacob for one meal. He let a temporary feeling make a decision that affected his future. What he wanted in the moment cost him something far more valuable.
Simple Action: Before making one emotional decision today, wait 10 minutes and ask, “What could this cost me later?”
A temporary appetite can send a permanent bill.
