I Am Loving

1 John 4:7 — “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”

Love means actively choosing what’s best for others, even when it costs you something.

God Says You Are Loving

You are a conduit of God’s love. The love you’re capable of showing others doesn’t originate in you. It flows through you from God. That means even when you feel like you don’t have much to give, the source is inexhaustible. Your love for people reflects God’s nature, and every time you choose to love someone well, you’re doing something eternally significant.

How to Practice Being Loving

  1. Love in action, not just in words. Look for one concrete way to show love to someone in your life today. Send the message. Make the call. Show up. Love is most powerful when it’s specific.
  2. Love difficult people on purpose. It’s easy to love people who love you back. Practice intentionally loving someone who’s hard to love. That’s where the growth happens.
  3. Receive love well. Sometimes loving others starts with being willing to be loved yourself. Let people in. Let God in. A full heart gives more freely than an empty one.

Prayer

Father, let Your love flow through me today. Help me love people the way You love me, consistently, sacrificially, and without keeping score. Where I’ve been selfish or closed off, open my heart. Make me someone who leaves others feeling seen and valued. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
