I Am Protected (Psalm 32:7)
“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.”
Psalm 32:7 (NIV)
What It Means to Be Protected
Being protected means God is your covering, refuge, and defender. It means you are not left exposed to face danger, fear, temptation, or spiritual pressure alone.
Protection does not mean you will never experience hardship. It means God is present with you, guarding what belongs to Him and guiding you through what could overwhelm you. A protected person learns to run to God before fear becomes their hiding place.

How to Practice Being Protected
Run to God First. When fear rises, let prayer be your first hiding place instead of panic, control, or isolation.
Stop Confusing Control With Safety. You cannot control everything, but you can trust the One who watches over you. Protection grows clearer when you release the need to manage every outcome.
Use Wisdom as Part of Protection. God’s protection does not cancel your responsibility. Pay attention, set boundaries, make wise choices, and listen for His direction.
Remember What God Has Already Brought You Through. Past deliverance can strengthen present trust. You have survived things that once felt impossible.
Refuse to Let Fear Become Your Home. Being protected does not mean living afraid of everything. It means walking wisely with confidence in God’s care.
Declare It
I run to God before I run to fear, because He is my hiding place and my protection is secure in Him.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my hiding place and protector. Help me run to You before I run to fear, control, or worry. Teach me to trust Your covering while also walking in wisdom. Guard my heart, guide my steps, and remind me that I am never outside of Your care. Let my life reflect confidence in Your protection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection Question
Where have I been trying to protect myself in ways that reveal fear more than faith, and how is God inviting me to trust His covering more deeply?
