I Am Sanctified

1 Corinthians 6:11 — “But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

Sanctification means God is actively making you more like Him.

God Says You Are Sanctified

Sanctification is both a position and a process. Positionally, you have been set apart for God the moment you believed. Practically, He is working in you every day to align your character, your habits, and your desires with His nature. You’re not the finished product yet, but you’re not where you started either. And God doesn’t give up on the work He’s begun.

How to Practice Being Sanctified

  1. Cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Sanctification isn’t something you do alone. The Holy Spirit is your helper in this. When He highlights something that needs to change, respond with openness rather than resistance.
  2. Be patient with your progress. Sanctification is a lifelong journey. Don’t get discouraged when you fall short. Get back up, confess, receive grace, and keep moving.
  3. Pursue holiness in practical ways. What you consistently expose yourself to shapes you. Make choices in your media, relationships, and habits that align with who God is making you to be.

Prayer

Lord, continue the work You started in me. Help me to cooperate with Your Spirit as He shapes me into the image of Christ. I want to reflect You more clearly every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
