The Power of Reconciliation to Restore What the Enemy Has Broken

Romans 5:10

“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”

Authority

Through the death and life of Jesus you have been fully reconciled to God, and that reconciliation is the foundation of every other authority you carry. The enemy cannot operate from separation when you are standing in full reconciliation with God. Everything he has broken is subject to the restoration that comes through the One who reconciled you when you were still His enemy.

The Enemy’s Strategy

The enemy works to make believers feel separated from God through guilt, failure, and the weight of their own history. He knows that a believer who feels distant from God is a believer operating with diminished spiritual authority. If he can convince you that what you have done has put a barrier between you and God, he has effectively removed the foundation everything else stands on.

The Biblical Example

Paul made his argument in Romans 5:10 from the greater to the lesser. If God reconciled you when you were His enemy, how much more certain is your ongoing salvation now that you are no longer His enemy. The reconciliation happened at the point of maximum distance, while you were still opposed to God. That is the most difficult moment for reconciliation and it still happened. Paul’s point was that everything after that is less difficult. The work was done at the point of the greatest obstacle. Nothing remaining can undo what was accomplished then.

How to Use It

When guilt or the memory of past failures tries to create a sense of distance between you and God, declare your reconciliation out loud. Remind yourself of the argument Paul made: God reconciled you when you were His enemy. You are no longer His enemy. The reconciliation that happened at the worst moment holds now. Walk in the full authority that comes from standing in complete reconciliation with God.

Declaration

“I am fully reconciled to God through the death and life of Jesus. The enemy cannot use my past, my failures, or my guilt to create separation between me and God. God reconciled me when I was His enemy. He is not withdrawing that reconciliation now. I stand in full access, full authority, and full relationship with God. Everything the enemy has broken is subject to the restoration that flows from this reconciliation. I am not distant from God. I am reconciled.”
