The Power to Rebuke the Enemy Directly

Zechariah 3:2

“And the LORD said to Satan, The LORD rebuke you, O Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?”

Authority

You are empowered to invoke the direct rebuke of the LORD against Satan. When you speak that rebuke in God’s name, it carries the full authority of God behind it. You are a brand plucked from the fire and the LORD Himself stands to rebuke the enemy on your behalf.

The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan operates as the Accuser who stands at your right hand to resist you, just as he stood to resist Joshua the high priest. He positions himself to block, oppose, and accuse, particularly in moments when you are stepping into purpose or entering God’s presence. He counts on you not knowing that you have the authority to speak a direct rebuke against him.

The Biblical Example

Zechariah 3 describes a vision in which Joshua the high priest was standing before the angel of the Lord while Satan stood at his right side to accuse him. Joshua was clothed in filthy garments, representing the condition of the people he represented. The angel of the Lord rebuked Satan directly, saying the Lord rebukes you. Then God removed Joshua’s filthy garments and replaced them with clean ones. The rebuke of the accuser came from God Himself, and it was followed immediately by the restoration of the one being accused.

How to Use It

When you sense the enemy’s direct opposition or accusation, speak the rebuke out loud: The LORD rebukes you, Satan. You do not need to argue with him, reason with him, or negotiate with him. Invoke the authority of God directly against him and declare that he is rebuked in the name of the LORD who has chosen you.

Declaration

“In the name of the LORD, I rebuke you, Satan. The LORD who has chosen me rebukes you. You have no right to stand against me, accuse me, or oppose what God is doing in my life. I am a brand plucked from the fire by the hand of God and no accusation you bring carries weight before the One who has chosen and redeemed me. The LORD rebukes you and you must stand down.”
