I Am Courageous

Joshua 1:9 — “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Courage means choosing to move forward in faith even when you’re afraid or uncertain.

God Says You Are Courageous

You’re courageous because you’re never facing anything alone. God’s presence goes with you into every room, every conversation, every decision, and every challenge. Courage doesn’t mean you don’t feel afraid. It means you take the next step anyway, knowing God’s right there with you. Every time you choose to act in spite of fear, you’re growing into a bolder, more confident version of yourself. God’s not asking you to be fearless. He’s asking you to trust that He’s bigger than whatever you’re facing.

How to Practice Being Courageous

  1. Do the thing you’re avoiding. Identify one thing fear has been keeping you from and take one small step toward it today. Courage grows every time you act on it, no matter how small the step is.
  2. Remind yourself who’s with you. Before you enter a situation that makes you nervous, pause and say: “God is with me.” His presence changes everything about how you walk into a room or face a challenge.
  3. Reflect on how far you’ve come. Think about a time when you were afraid and got through it anyway. That’s evidence that you’re already courageous. Let that encourage you for what’s next.

Prayer

Lord, I choose courage today. I know I’m not alone because You promised to be with me. When fear tries to hold me back, remind me that You’ve already equipped me for this moment. I don’t have to feel bold. I just have to trust that You are. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
