I Am a Disciple

John 13:35 — “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Being a disciple means you are an active learner and follower of Jesus in your daily life.

God Says You Are a Disciple

Discipleship isn’t a program. It’s a lifestyle. Being a disciple of Jesus means you’re someone who studies how He lived and actively tries to live the same way. It means you’re always learning, always growing, and always pointing others toward Him. You’re not just someone who believes in Jesus. You’re someone who follows Him, which means your direction changes when He moves.

How to Practice Being a Disciple

  1. Study the life of Jesus intentionally. Read the Gospels regularly. Watch how Jesus interacted with people, how He handled conflict, how He prayed. Let His example reshape how you live.
  2. Find people to learn from and people to pour into. Discipleship flows both ways. Be in relationship with people who are further along in faith, and invest in people who are behind you.
  3. Let your daily life be your witness. The most powerful testimony is the one lived out consistently over time. Let how you love, work, speak, and serve demonstrate what it means to follow Jesus.

Prayer

Lord, I want to be a true disciple, not just someone who calls You Lord but someone who actually follows You. Teach me Your ways. Let my life look more like Yours every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
