I Am Gifted
Romans 12:6-8 — “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
Being gifted means God has placed specific abilities inside you for a specific purpose.
God Says You Are Gifted
You’re not a blank slate. You came wired with gifts, strengths, and abilities that are uniquely yours. Some of them you’ve discovered. Some you haven’t yet. But God didn’t hold back when He made you. Every gift in you was intentional. It wasn’t given for you to hoard. It was given for you to use, and when you do, something in the world gets better because you were here.
How to Practice Being Gifted
- Identify what energizes you. Your gifts often show up in what you enjoy doing without being forced. Pay attention to what comes naturally, what people consistently ask for your help with, and what leaves you feeling alive rather than drained.
- Use your gifts in small settings first. You don’t have to wait for the big stage. Start where you are. Volunteer, serve, create, contribute in the spaces you already have access to.
- Don’t compare your gifts to someone else’s. Your gift set is yours for a reason. Comparison is a distraction. Someone else having a gift doesn’t diminish yours. Focus on developing what’s in your hands.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gifts You’ve placed in me. Help me to steward them well. Give me the courage to use them even when I feel unsure, and the humility to keep developing them. Let my gifts be used for Your glory and for the good of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
