I Am Called
2 Timothy 1:9 — “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time.”
Being called means God has a specific purpose for your life that He planned before you were born.
God Says You Are Called
Your calling isn’t something you discover one day out of nowhere. It’s something God placed in you before you were born. Your experiences, your gifts, your passions, the pain you’ve walked through, all of it is pointing toward something He designed you to do. You’re not here by accident. You’re here with a mission, and that mission matters more than you currently understand.
How to Practice Being Called
- Pay attention to what breaks your heart. What you care about deeply often points to what you’re called to. The injustice that makes you angry, the need that won’t let you look away, these are clues.
- Serve before you have a title. Calling doesn’t come with a title attached at first. It comes with an invitation to serve. Be faithful in that before you wait for the platform.
- Stop comparing your calling to someone else’s. Your calling is custom. It doesn’t look like anyone else’s, and it’s not supposed to. Stop measuring yours against theirs and start walking in what God has for you specifically.
Prayer
God, help me to understand and walk in my calling. Give me clarity about what You’ve designed me for, and give me the courage to pursue it faithfully. Let my life be an answer to why You put me here. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
