I Am Confident (Hebrews 4:16)
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
What It Means to Be Confident
Being confident means you can stand securely in who God is, what He has said, and how He receives you. It means your assurance is rooted in God’s faithfulness, not in your ability to control every outcome.
Confidence is not arrogance or pretending you never struggle. It is the steady trust that God is near, His grace is available, and His truth is stronger than your insecurity. A confident person can approach God honestly instead of hiding in shame.

How to Practice Confidence
Approach God Honestly. Confidence grows when you stop hiding from God and start bringing Him your need, weakness, questions, and repentance.
Build Your Confidence on Truth. Do not let your emotions become your final authority. Anchor your assurance in what God has said and who He has proven Himself to be.
Stop Performing for Acceptance. You can come to God because of grace, not because you had a perfect week. Let mercy make you bold enough to return.
Speak With Humble Boldness. Confidence does not need to be loud or prideful. Practice telling the truth clearly, kindly, and without apologizing for what God has placed in you.
Remember That God Is Still Working. Your unfinished places do not mean God has abandoned the process. Confidence grows when you trust His ability to complete what He started.
Declare It
I approach God without shame, because grace has already made a way for me to come boldly before Him.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving me access to Your throne of grace. Help me approach You with confidence instead of hiding in shame or fear. Teach me to build my assurance on Your faithfulness, not my feelings. Give me humble boldness in my prayers, choices, and relationships. Let my life reflect trust in the grace and mercy You freely give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection Question
What insecurity, shame, or fear has been keeping me from approaching God or living boldly, and what would change if I truly trusted His grace toward me?
