The Power and Authority Over All Demons

Luke 9:1

“And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.”

Authority

Jesus has given believers both power and authority over all demons. Power is the ability and authority is the right. You have been given both. That means when you confront demonic forces, you are not operating on your own strength or hoping that God will step in. You are operating with delegated power and legal right backed by heaven itself.

The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan counts on believers either not knowing or not using the power and authority they have been given. He operates most freely in the lives of people who believe they are helpless against him. His greatest advantage is ignorance of the believer’s position.

The Biblical Example

In Luke 9, Jesus called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal diseases, then sent them out. This was not a one-time demonstration. He gave them the authority as something to carry and use. They went out and did what He had equipped them to do. The authority to deal with demonic power was transferred to people Jesus sent, not kept exclusively in His own hands.

How to Use It

When you encounter demonic activity, do not ask God to do what He has already authorized you to do. Step into the authority and power He has given you. Speak to the demonic activity directly, name it specifically, and command it to go in the name of Jesus. Then pray for the healing and restoration that comes after deliverance.

Declaration

“Jesus gave me power and authority over all demons. All of them, without exception. I walk in that power and authority today. I do not face demonic forces as a helpless bystander. I face them as someone who has been authorized and empowered by the Son of God Himself. Every demon must answer to that authority and I use it boldly in the name of Jesus.”
