The Power of God’s Unbreakable Hold on You

John 10:28

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

Authority

Satan has absolutely no power to remove you from the hand of God. You are held by Jesus and nothing in existence can take you out of His grip. That means your security is not something you maintain through your own performance. It is something God holds for you. The strength you have in Christ comes from being in His grip, and that grip never loosens.

The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan tries to make believers feel insecure in their salvation and unstable in their relationship with God. He uses sin, failure, and doubt to make you feel like you are slipping out of God’s hand or that you could be taken from Him. His goal is to get you focused on your grip rather than on God’s grip.

The Biblical Example

Jesus spoke John 10:28 while describing Himself as the good shepherd. He said He gave His sheep eternal life and that no one would snatch them out of His hand. He then went further and said His Father, who gave them to Him, was greater than all, and no one could snatch them out of the Father’s hand either. The picture is a grip that operates at two levels. Jesus holds His people, and the Father holds them as well. The enemy has to get past both.

How to Use It

When doubt and insecurity rise about your standing with God, declare out loud that it is not your grip that holds you. It is His. Stop trying to feel secure through your own performance and rest in the promise that Jesus said no one will snatch you from His hand. Your security is based on His strength, not yours.

“Jesus gives me eternal life and I will never perish. No one and nothing can snatch me out of His hand. Satan, you do not have the power to remove me from God’s grip. I am held by the Son of God and His hold on me does not depend on my performance, my feelings, or my circumstances. I am secure. I am held. And I am never letting go of the One who will never let go of me.”
