The Power to See Satan’s Works Destroyed
1 John 3:8
“Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”
Authority
Jesus came specifically to destroy every work the devil has built. You stand in the power of that destruction and can declare it over every area of your life where the enemy has been working. That purpose is not limited to what happened at the cross. It is active and ongoing wherever Jesus is present.
The Enemy’s Strategy
Satan has been building his works since the beginning, establishing patterns of sin, bondage, destruction, and death in the lives of people. His works are not accidental. They are intentional constructions built over time to keep people far from God and far from freedom.
The Biblical Example
John wrote 1 John 3:8 to settle a clear distinction: the devil has been sinning from the beginning, and the Son of God appeared for the specific purpose of destroying the devil’s works. The word destroy means to undo, dissolve, or break apart. Jesus did not come just to forgive sin. He came to actively dismantle everything the enemy had built. Every bondage, every lie, every work the enemy had constructed in a person’s life was a target of what Jesus came to do.
How to Use It
Identify the specific works of the devil operating in your life or in the lives of those you are praying for. Name them out loud and declare that Jesus appeared to destroy those very works. Pray with confidence that the purpose of Jesus appearing is being fulfilled right now in that specific situation.
Declaration
“Jesus, the Son of God, appeared to destroy the works of the devil. That includes every work the enemy has built in my life. Every pattern of destruction, every bondage, every work of darkness that has been operating against me is subject to the destroying power of the One who came for exactly this reason. I declare those works destroyed in the name of Jesus.”
