The Power to Stand on Satan’s Defeat
Colossians 2:15
“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.”
Authority
Jesus has already disarmed every demonic ruler and authority. Satan and his forces operate from a place of total defeat, and you stand on the finished victory of the cross. That means when the enemy comes against you, he is not coming from a position of power. He is coming from a position of defeat, using fear and deception to make you act as though the outcome is still in question. It is not.
The Enemy’s Strategy
Satan is a disarmed enemy who fights using fear, bluff, and deception. His greatest strategy after the cross is to make you forget that he has already been defeated. He acts with false confidence and projects power he no longer legally holds, hoping you will back down before you realize he has nothing left to fight with.
The Biblical Example
When Jesus died on the cross, Paul says something happened in the spiritual realm at the same time. Every ruler and authority that had held legal standing over humanity was stripped of its power. Paul used the image of a military victory parade where a conquered enemy is put on public display. Jesus did not quietly neutralize the enemy. He made an open show of the defeat. The cross was not just forgiveness. It was a public legal disarmament of everything that stood against us.
How to Use It
When the enemy comes against you, remind yourself and him out loud that he was disarmed and publicly defeated at the cross. Do not respond to his attacks as though they carry the same weight they once did. Speak to the defeated enemy with the confidence of someone who knows the battle is already over and who is simply enforcing the outcome.
Declaration
“Jesus disarmed every ruler, every authority, and every demonic power at the cross and put them on open display in defeat. Satan, you are not operating from a place of power. You are operating from a place of total defeat. I stand on the finished work of the cross and I enforce the victory that Jesus has already won. Your weapons have been stripped and your authority has been crushed. I declare your defeat in the name of Jesus.”
