The Power of God’s Protection Over Every Believer Born of God

1 John 5:18

“We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.”

Authority

Every person who has been born of God is personally protected by God Himself, and the evil one cannot touch them. You are covered by a divine protection that is not dependent on your strength but on God’s. That protection is not something you earn or maintain by being perfect. It is a reality that belongs to you because of who you are to Him.

The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan wants believers to feel perpetually exposed and vulnerable to his attacks. He uses the reality of spiritual warfare to make you feel like you are always one step away from being overtaken. He hides the truth that God Himself stands between you and the evil one, protecting every believer who has been born of His Spirit. If he can keep you feeling unprotected, he can keep you living as though you are.

The Biblical Example

John wrote 1 John to believers who needed settled confidence in who they were to God. He stated plainly that the one born of God does not keep sinning because God keeps him and the evil one does not touch him. This was not a conditional promise based on their track record. It was a declaration of what God does for those who belong to Him. John was anchoring them in the reality that God Himself was standing guard over their lives, not leaving them to manage the enemy on their own.

How to Use It

When fear of the enemy’s attacks rises, declare out loud the promise of 1 John 5:18. God protects you and the evil one cannot touch you without passing through God’s permission first. Rest in that covering actively, not passively. Declare it as your reality and walk in the confidence that comes from knowing who stands between you and the enemy.
