The Power of Faith to Move Every Obstacle
Matthew 17:20
“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Authority
Even the smallest genuine faith gives you the authority to speak to mountains of spiritual opposition and command them to move. Nothing is impossible to you when you operate in faith. The size of the obstacle is irrelevant when the One backing your faith has never faced an immovable mountain.
The Enemy’s Strategy
Satan works to make obstacles feel permanent and immovable. He builds mountains of opposition in your life, whether through circumstances, people, health, finances, or spiritual bondage, and then presents them as fixed realities that faith cannot change. He wants the size of the mountain to determine the size of your expectation.
The Biblical Example
Matthew 17 records a situation where Jesus’ disciples had tried and failed to cast out a demon from a boy. When Jesus arrived, He rebuked the demon and it left immediately. Afterward the disciples asked why they could not do it, and Jesus told them it was because of their little faith. He then made a statement about faith the size of a mustard seed being able to move a mountain, with nothing being impossible to those who have it. The obstacle was not the mountain. It was the size of their faith being applied to it.
How to Use It
Identify the specific mountain of opposition in your life and speak to it directly by name. Do not pray about the mountain at length. Speak to it. Command it to move in the name of Jesus, backed by your faith in the One who said nothing will be impossible for you. Speak with specificity, with authority, and with the expectation that faith carries.
Declaration
“I have faith and I speak to this mountain: move, in the name of Jesus. Every obstacle, every stronghold, and every immovable-looking opposition in my life is subject to the authority of my faith in God. Nothing is impossible for me because I believe in the One for whom nothing is impossible. I declare the mountain moved and I act on that declaration by taking the next step forward.”
