The Power to Cast Out Demons and Shut Their Influence

Mark 3:15

“And have authority to cast out demons.”

Authority

Jesus gave His followers the authority to cast out demons. That authority has been passed to every believer through the name of Jesus. Demonic influence does not have the right to stay where it is not authorized to be, and you have been given the authority to remove it.

The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan operates through demons that he deploys into specific situations, bodies, and environments to oppress and control. He counts on the believers around those situations not knowing or not using their authority to remove them. A demon operating unchallenged is a demon operating with the passive permission of those around it.

The Biblical Example

Mark 3:15 records Jesus appointing the twelve and giving them authority to cast out demons as part of their commission. This was built into their assignment from the beginning. They were not discovering demon-casting authority later or asking for it as an upgrade. Jesus gave it to them when He sent them out. The authority to deal with demonic presence and influence was a standard part of what He equipped His people to do.

How to Use It

When you discern demonic activity in a situation, a place, or a person’s life, exercise your authority directly. Name the spirit, command it to leave in the name of Jesus, and do not stop until there is a change. Follow up by praying for the presence of God to fill the space that was vacated.

Declaration

“I have authority to cast out demons and I use it. In the name of Jesus, every demonic spirit that has been operating in my sphere of influence must leave. I cast you out. You have no right to stay, no authority to resist, and no power to hold your ground when the authority of Jesus is being exercised. I speak to you directly: go, in the name of Jesus.”
