The Power to Put Satan Beneath Your Feet

Romans 16:20

“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”

Authority

God Himself will crush Satan under your feet. This is a divine promise and a divine act. The crushing is God's work, but the feet are yours. That means you are the one positioned over the enemy, with God doing the crushing. You do not stand alongside the enemy as an equal opponent. You stand above him, in the position God has placed you, while God finishes the work.

The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan is the adversary who constantly positions himself as an equal threat to be negotiated with or feared. He wants to be seen as standing at your level, as a force you must cautiously manage rather than a defeated enemy you can boldly crush. He elevates himself in your perception so that you never walk in the confidence of someone who has him under their feet.

The Biblical Example

Paul wrote Romans 16:20 to a church he had never visited in person, closing his letter with a direct promise: God would crush Satan under their feet shortly. He connected this to the grace of Jesus. This was not something they had to earn or fight for on their own. God Himself would do the crushing, and He would do it in a place that was significant: under their feet. The enemy’s final position in relation to them was beneath them, not over them.

How to Use It

Walk through your day with the awareness that the enemy is beneath you, not beside you. When he attacks, speak to him from that position. You do not negotiate with what is under your feet. You declare victory over it. Speak the promise of Romans 16:20 out loud and walk forward with the confidence of someone who knows where the enemy stands in relation to them.

Declaration

“The God of peace crushes Satan under my feet. The enemy is not at my level. He is not my equal. He is beneath me, crushed under the authority and the grace of Jesus. I walk in that truth today. Satan, you are under my feet, and every step I take in faith is a declaration of your defeat. The God of peace has spoken it and I stand on it.”
