The Power to Live Free From the Fear That Enslaves
Hebrews 2:15
“And deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”
Authority
Jesus entered into death specifically to destroy the one who used fear of death as a weapon and to deliver everyone who had been enslaved by that fear. You have been delivered from the fear that keeps people in lifelong slavery. That deliverance is your inheritance and your present reality.
The Enemy’s Strategy
Satan is the one who held the power of death as his greatest weapon, using the fear of it to keep people in lifelong bondage. He uses the threat of death, loss, and destruction to control decisions, paralyze faith, and keep people from fully surrendering to God. Jesus entered into death specifically to destroy the one who wielded it as a weapon.
The Biblical Example
Hebrews 2:15 explains that Jesus became human and died specifically to free those who had been held in slavery all their lives through the fear of death. The fear of death was not just an emotional experience. It was a mechanism of control. As long as people feared what the enemy could threaten them with at the end of their lives, he could manipulate their choices throughout their lives. Jesus broke that mechanism by removing his power over death entirely.
How to Use It
Identify the specific fears that have been controlling your decisions and limiting your obedience to God. Name them out loud and declare that Jesus has delivered you from each one. Then take the specific step of obedience that the fear has been preventing. The delivery from fear becomes real as you act against it.
Declaration
“Jesus has delivered me from every fear that leads to slavery. I am not subject to lifelong bondage through fear. Every fear the enemy has used to control my decisions, limit my faith, and keep me from full obedience to God is broken by the deliverance of Jesus. I name my fears and I declare them powerless. I am free and I will live like it.”
