The Power of the Mind of Christ Over Every Enemy Thought
Philippians 2:5
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Authority
You have been given access to the mind of Christ. When you operate with His mind, you think with His wisdom, His perspective, and His authority, which is far above every strategy the enemy deploys against your thinking. The mind of Christ is not a philosophy. It is a spiritual reality available to every believer.
The Enemy’s Strategy
The enemy’s primary battlefield is the mind. Every stronghold, every lie, and every deception he builds has its foundation in thinking. He knows that if he can control what you think, he can influence what you do. His most consistent daily work is the attempt to replace the mind of Christ in you with his own patterns of thinking.
The Biblical Example
Paul wrote this instruction to the Philippians in the context of calling them to unity and humility. He used the mindset of Jesus Himself as the model: a willingness to empty Himself, take on human form, and become obedient even to death. That level of thinking could not come from natural self-interest or pride. Paul’s point was that the same mind that governed Jesus in that moment was available to believers. Letting it operate in you changes what you see, what you value, and how you respond to everything the enemy puts in front of you.
How to Use It
When wrong patterns of thinking arise, declare out loud that you have the mind of Christ and that His thoughts are the ones that govern your mind. Replace specific wrong thoughts with specific thoughts of Christ. Identify what Jesus would think about your situation, your identity, and your future, and choose those thoughts over the enemy’s suggestions.
Declaration
“I have the mind of Christ and His thinking governs my mind. Every lie and distortion the enemy sends against my thinking meets the mind of Christ in me and cannot stand. I do not think from a limited, defeated perspective. I think from the perspective of Jesus, which is above every strategy the enemy has. My mind is renewed. The enemy’s patterns do not find agreement in me.”
