I Am God’s Worker
Colossians 3:23 — “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Being God’s worker means your work has eternal significance, regardless of what it looks like on the outside.
God Says You Are God’s Worker
The work you do every day matters more than you realize. When you do it with excellence, with integrity, and with a heart that says “this is for You, Lord,” it becomes something beyond a job or a task. It becomes an act of worship. God doesn’t just see what you produce. He sees why you do it and how. You’re not just working for a paycheck or a grade or an applause. You’re working for an audience of One, and He sees everything.
How to Practice Being God’s Worker
- Start your work with intention. Before you dive into your tasks for the day, pause and offer your work to God. Say: “Lord, let everything I do today honor You.” That one moment changes the whole frame.
- Do the small things with excellence. How you handle the small, unseen tasks reveals your character. Don’t save your best effort for when people are watching. Bring it to every task.
- Stay focused on the right audience. When you’re tempted to cut corners or feel like your work doesn’t matter, remember who you’re really working for. God notices everything, and He rewards faithfulness.
Prayer
Father, help me to see my daily work through Your eyes. Whether it’s something significant or something small, let me do it with excellence and purpose. Let everything I produce reflect the character of the One I serve. I offer my work to You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
